Nationwide transmitter network for digital TV transmission
ORS offers digital terrestrial TV throughout Austria under the simpliTV brand. The transmission is carried out via the technical standard DVB-T2, which ensures cost-effective broadcasting through efficient frequency utilization and enables television in SD as well as HD quality.
With DVB-T2, terrestrial transmission is experiencing a surge in innovation and modernization and, alongside satellite and cable, is the most important standard for transmitting TV signals worldwide. Since October 2017, terrestrial TV is only broadcast in the DVB-T2 standard (simpliTV).
ORS operates a nationwide transmitter network in Austria with around 430 transmitter sites for the distribution of TV and radio programs (FM & DAB+). Currently, more than 96 percent of Austrian households can receive digital TV via antenna.

With a network of more than 430 transmitter sites throughout Austria, ORS ensures almost seamless coverage with digital terrestrial television. Moreover, ORS operates five national and five regional multiplexes, which broadcast more than 40 TV programs.
